Rocket has a nice mix of racing and performance
bloodlines which has given him his speed and athleticism and most importantly, a great mind. And the
great part is he passes this on to his babies.

About Rocket's color ...
Genetically Rocket is a smoky brown (a brown horse with a cream gene), but most
people call them buckskins, so to avoid confusion that's what we will continue to call him. We also know
that he is homozygous for the black gene. To anyone who studies color genetics he is At/EE/Cr/N
What that means is, since he carries the cream gene and is homozygous for the black gene he can sire buckskin, bay, brown, smoky brown, black, smoky black, perlino, and
smoky cream. He cannot, however, sire any red-based foals, regardless of the base color of the mares he is
bred to. He will not sire any sorrel, chestnut, palomino, cremello or red dun foals. Guaranteed.
If the mare posesses any color modifiers that Rocket doesn't have (dun, roan, gray,
Paint or pinto) then the foal may also inherit those characteristics. With our red dun mares he often
produces dunskin, which is a buckskin with dun factor. He can also sire grulla, silver grulla, or smoky grulla
out of a dun or grulla mare.

page (click on link below).
