Ima Flashy Hobby, aka 'Wilson'

  Dear Kevin & Judy;

We just wanted to drop you a line and tell you how happy we are with our "Rocket baby", Wilson (A.K.A. - Ima Flashy Hobby).

As you know, we have young children, so our horses' behavior and temperament is very important to us; we are constantly amazed by Wilson's level headedness and willing attitude.

We've always liked Rocket, and we definitely took his temperament into consideration when we were deciding to breed our mare.

As a yearling, we were able to trust our 6 year old daughter to lead Wilson in and out of the pasture and were confident that he would not step out of line.

As a two year old, he has continued to impress us, just this morning my husband loaded him on our two horse trailer by himself, for the first time, with no hesitation at all! He went for a short drive, got off and back on the trailer again like a seasoned show horse!

To add to this, he has excellent conformation with great bone and a beautiful head.

We can't wait to start him under saddle in the spring, he shows great potential! We'll keep you updated on his progress.

Thanks so much,

Angela & Rick Corkum

Echo Charged, aka 'Jake'

I took my son's horse, Echo Charged (aka 'Jake'), to Kevin for a month training on barrels and poles.  We were very pleased with the progress Jake made.

My son, Jeremy and Jake had a great year with the MBRA placing often in the top 10 in the Open Barrel Division and ended the year with Most Improved Horse, Reserve Youth Overall Champion and 3rd in Novice Poles.

Heza Holly Hobby - 'Bailey'

Hi Kevin and Judy,

Just thought we would let you know how happy we are with Bailey (Heza Hollyhobby) and how much we are looking forward to our next Rocket baby this April.

We having been thinking of breeding to Rocket for a few years now, ever since we first saw him at the Windsor Ex. a few years ago.   His easy going temperament was just one of the things that drew us to him, along with his nice build and beautiful color.   We had been looking for a well built buckskin for a few years, and now we have one with Bailey.     Our 12 year old son is looking forward to the day we will be able to barrel race on him, but for now he is happy doing the work from the ground (brushing, leading).   We are so happy Bailey seem to have inherited his father temperament and nice build.

Thanks again, and here is hoping for another beautiful buckskin this spring.

Colby & Kylynne are so happy with Little Baby Jeans & Vete.   I hope they keep going in the direction they are headed.   I have never had such friendly babies - Kylynne is always mauling over them!
Thanks Rocket !!

Rose & Juno

We bred our Rose (Quarter horse X) to Rocket in 2007 and our Juno was born June 10/2008.  She was a beautiful foal with straight legs, a gorgeous head and gentle eyes.  By three weeks of age she was halter broke and I was leading her on lead and she understood whoa.  She just wanted to please and she was very calm.  She is quick to understand, you only have to show her once, she is quiet, gentle and very friendly.  The farrier loves her and always wants to take her home.  We feel she is going to be a wonderful horse and we just can't wait to see how she matures.

Mary's first ride on Chicks Gotta Gun, aka 'Lacey'

As an owner and rider of seasoned horses for over 30 years, I was excited but a little nervous about buying and raising a '' baby ''.   I bought my ''Rocket Baby'' from Kevin and Judy as a yearling and have owned her for over a year now.   Lacey, " Chick's Gotta Gun ", has been a dream come true to own ... sweet tempered, very sociable and eager to do what ever you ask of her.

Kevin started her under saddle and I am amazed at how well she is doing.   In just 2 months he has taken her from groundwork to trailriding and she has done it all calmly and willingly.

Lacey's breeding and Kevin's training have made her a real pleasure to own and ride!

Rockets Elite Gold 'Tanner' & owner Cindy Vihvelin - picture by Centry Classic Photography

My first experience at owning a young horse has been the colt Tanner, "Rockets Elite Gold" that I purchased from Judy and Kevin in 2009.   He is clearly demonstrating the kind, quiet disposition of both his sire Rocket and his dam Otie. He is a very loving, inquisitive young gelding.   Tanner is always willing to explore new things and learn new tricks. His calm nature, kind heart and intelligence should make him an easy and reliable partner when he is ready to start under saddle.   He greets with a soft nicker and was quickly the darling of the barn with both horse people and non horse people.

The care and concern that both Judy and Kevin have for their horses goes beyond just breeding and selling. Judy has kept in touch and is always delighted to share the progress with us of babies that they have bred or to answer any questions. You could not ask for a more caring or dedicated breeder.

Liisa and Jude

Over the years I have owned four of High Meadow Quarter Horses' babies (all sired by Salty Hobby Boy) and they ALL had the same calm, curious and friendly disposition.    These horses are beautiful, athletic, easy to train, and a joy to be
around.

Judy and Kevin are wonderful people who go far above and beyond what one would expect from a breeder and seller.  I have nothing but good things to say about
them and their horses!

Shelly & Smokin Hot Chick

I am one of those people who have had a passion for horses from a very young age. It took me 49 years to finally realize a life long dream. With very little experience under my belt, I still wanted a young horse to learn and grow with. Lots of people told me that a green rider plus a green horse often equals black and blue! But I took a chance after hearing what wonderful dispositions Rocket's offspring have. I purchased a 3 year old buckskin mare, "Smokin Hot Chick", from Kevin and Judy in October 2010 after she was returned to their farm when the first owner could no longer keep her. I had longed for one of their horses for quite some time after hearing so many great things about them but they were often sold before weaned and I was just not in a position to own a baby. I waited a very long time to have my own horse and upon hearing of Chick's return, I wasted no time in contacting them. Purchasing Chick was without question the best decision I have ever made. I watched Kevin train her under saddle and took my first ride on her under Kevin and Judy's careful, watchful eye. Chick has proven to be the most patient, kind and willing animal I have ever known. She is an absolute pleasure to ride and work around on the ground. We have had a fantastic year, growing and learning together, and I look forward to growing old with her! I cannot say enough about both Kevin and Judy and their horses. I encourage anyone looking for a horse, whether you're an experienced or a new rider, to consider a Rocket baby. You will not be disappointed!!

Love Shelly, Chick and DD
